S0, rest assured – if you're thinking about getting a fluffy corgi: we're right there with you!
Whether it’s a fluffy Pembroke you’re after or a fluffy Cardigan, here are the top tips you need to know about getting a fluffy corgi.

How do I Find a Fluffy Corgi?

The fluffiness of corgis is not just magic. It’s caused by a specific gene in the body: the FGF5 gene – often called the “Fluff Gene”.

That means that fluffy corgis are just regular corgis with a slightly different gene, and can be found in regular litters from regular corgis.

We absolutely encourage you to get your corgi at a rescue if you can. You’re saving the life of a corgi and giving a home to someone who deserves love and compassion. However, we do understand the chance of finding one is low.

You can find fluffy corgis from reputable corgi breeders. You will need have a conversation with them to find out if they are able to get you a fluffy corgi.

We recommend going out to visit them and the corgis wherever possible. It’s not just a fun trip – but it also gives you lots of advice and understanding about the conditions your corgi is coming from.

You may not have a local breeder in your area, and that means you need to look out of state/country. Unless you can do the drive (and it's not always possible), you need to find an airline that can take animals.

How Much Does a Fluffy Corgi Cost?

A fluffy corgi should cost approximately the same as a regular corgi. A good breeder will not attempt to market them as a rarity or a specialty, despite being less common.

On average: You should expect to pay anywhere from USD$500 to USD$2000 for a healthy fluffy corgi puppy.

On the cheaper side: An affordable option can be your local animal shelter, who will occasionally get in adult corgis and can go for around $100.

On the expensive side: If all you're after is the quality, then you're going to run into a more expensive dog. A purebred will set you back $500–$1000 (or in Europe: €750–€1200), with some going up to and over $2000.

Prices that are too low or too high are a warning sign! A good breeder is aware of the market price, and will demand reasonable prices for their efforts.

If the price is off, double check you're not dealing with a puppy mill or backyard breeder. They should not be supported as they are not good for the health of the corgi and the longevity of the breed.

Do You Have Fluffy Corgis for Sale?

We are not a seller of any corgis – so we don’t have fluffy corgis for sale.

If you're after American corgi puppies for sale, start your search with the American Kennel Club website. They have a huge list of reputable breeders and can get you in contact with all of them.

We also have a great guide on How To Buy A Corgi which you should read, especially if you're from outside the USA.
